A live webinar with Gihan Perera

Getting Started with Webinars
A live webinar with Gihan Perera
Thursday 23 February 2012 • 7.00-8.00 pm
APSS Members: Free
Guests: S$20

Webinars are a powerful marketing and educational tool for speakers, but it's not easy to run them well, especially if they are new to you. You have to speak to an 'invisible' audience, control Q&A, raise the standard of your PowerPoint slides, and more - all while trying manage a whole new set of technology as well!

In this exclusive webinar for APSS, Gihan Perera will show you how to plan and prepare your very first webinar, so you can ease into it without feeling overwhelmed.

You will learn how to:
  • Choose the right webinar technology.
  • Design slides that work well for webinars.
  • Avoid common mistakes that speakers make when presenting webinars.
  • Reduce the risk of things going wrong with your webinar.
  • Take all the stress out of your very first webinar.

Gihan Perera is an author, speaker, trainer, consultant, and an Internet coach for business owners. Since 1997, he has worked with some of Australia’s leading thought leaders, change agents and entrepreneurs, helping them leverage their expertise, individually and in groups, on and off the Internet.

Gihan runs 10-12 webinars a month, in a number of formats, including training presentations, facilitated discussions, group coaching and mentoring.

Using webinars, Gihan is able to reach a wider audience, connect in a personal way with members of his membership site, deliver his material from the comfort of his home, and even have the freedom to travel and still run 'business as usual'.

In his own words, Gihan says: "I've made a fair share of mistakes as well. I've had lots of people register, and then not turn up. I've had my audio drop out part-way through a webinar. I've had a guest presenter's audio drop out during a webinar! I've seen webinar slides load so slowly that the technology messed up the flow of the presentation. I've been a webinar participant where I couldn't hear anything the presenter was saying. I've also had a webinar recording fail (luckily, I had a backup recording)."
